This is not a hotel … Ki-em Art House Resort is a place of confluence and exchange with the nature and culture of Vietnam. A place for sharing life, between peace and spirituality through Art.
The family that owns the property is made of local artists and their vision of local Vietnam is full of special significance. Ki-em Art House Resort has 9 bungalow-style villas, two of which overhang the sea, a spa and an ecomuseum, ideal for tranquility, Art and conviviality lovers. All the bungalows have the same atmosphere and facilities. Only the view is different. To favour your peace of mind, they have chosen not to put telephone and television directly in the bungalows. You can find those services at the reception room and in the exhibition room, where you can also find a computer with Internet access.

Overall Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Energy Rating: ★★★ (3)
Staff Comment – Our staff is trained and strongly encouraged to save energy. Electric lighting and appliances are used only when needed and to avoid useless energy consumption. Although all our rooms are equipped with air conditioning, we encourage our guests to use it only when necessary and prefer the use of the fan or … natural sea breeze! We use solar energy to heat water for the bathrooms and infrared automatic lighting for the garden. Also, most of our lighting in the rooms is provided with dimmers.
Water Rating: ★★★ (3)
Staff Comment – We avoid linen over-washing and have housekeeping rules concerning water saving. Our guests are also encouraged not to overuse water and energy through information notes. We are planning to build a water tank to collect rain water and to replace all chemical cleaning products by natural and ecologic products to avoid water table and soil pollution. Our well enables us to use our own water and all plants in our garden are native to the area or the country. Our laundry is totally home and hand-made, so we can save energy and control water debit.
Disposal Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Staff Comment – We like to salvage used items and materials such as wood, glass, vegetal and mineral elements as much as possible to turn them into handicrafts, furniture, decoration or practical items. Our staff has been trained to separate recyclable and non-recyclable matters, according to waste sorting basic rules. Waste plastic items are collected by the local authorities or donated for recycling. All used papers are re-used for eco-packaging or office use.
Eco-Active Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Staff Comment – We have chosen not to install television and telephone directly in the rooms to favour rest and tranquility of our guests. As we are a quiet place, everything is done to reduce auditive but also visual pollution. We prepare healthy, highly creative and nutritive vegetarian meals on a daily basis and actively promote vegetarism with our guests. We sometimes serve fish and seafood, fished directly from the sea by the local fishermen, not grown in the farms. We also grow our own aromatic herbs and use their natural repulsive qualities against undesirable pests and insects instead of chemical insecticide. Organic and vegetal kitchen waste is used as a fertilizer for our garden and seeds are planted to grow vegetables. Used linen is re-used for housekeeping and we donate clothes to the children of the village..
Protection Rating: ★★★★ (4)
Staff Comment – We focus on fair trade by buying our products and traditional clay dishes from local markets and small local producers. The salt we use comes from the very close Hon Khoi salt fields. We highly favour longterm recruitment of local staffs : The resort was built with salvaged local material by a team of local craftsmen who still work at the resort today as maintainers and other qualifications. All of staff members have been trained by artist Ki-em in a professional, ecological and responsive way, and with a sustainable development perspective. We rent bicycles to our guests to discover the area and also encourage walking and hiking. We like to initiate our guests to local culture and way of life through our cooking and a cosy family atmosphere.
