Tra Co beach is located Northeast of Quang Ninh province, about 8km away from Mong Cai town. “Beach town”, “port community” are the words to describe about Tra Co – a town in vicinity to Border checkpoint. Tra Co beach is serene, quaint and reminiscent that’s worth a visit.

How to get there?
– Depart from Hanoi city: It takes about 5 hours from Hanoi to Mong Cai by bus. You can catch the bus at stations: Giap Bat, Luong Yen, My Dinh. Price range is between 120.000 VND and 150.000 VND depending on seats.
– Depart from Hai Phong city: You can take express shuttle which costs about 150.000 VND. The shuttle operates 2 times per day so make sure you don’t miss it.
Beach activities: Swimming is a usual activity for every traveler. Tra Co beach water is warm and clear immersed into shade of majestic mountains. Swimwear, swimming glasses and other gears can be rented at beachfront stores. Besides swimming, you can enjoy watching fierce sunset on the beach with multi colors fading to the horizon.
Attractions: Van Lien pagoda is one of the most popular and revered pagodas in Mong Cai town. The pagoda has plenty of ritual objects that hold spiritual and cultural value. The pagoda is busy on annual festival which takes place between 30th May and 6th June upon Lunar calendar. Visitors can witness many rituals and competitions. Other attractions are Bai Da Den (black stone beach), Sa Vi cape.
Shopping: Mong Cai night market is buslted and sells everything from food, houseware to souvenirs. Visitors also can pass the border checkpoint to go to China for a vibrant shopping. Remember to bring your ID card and ID photos so that you can pass the border checkpoint via travel agencies.
